We love cinnamon buns, but they were always too small and never had enough icing. So we started making our own: a little bit bigger, a little swirlier, crammed full of butter, cinnamon and brown sugar and topped with our homemade, warm, lemon & cream cheese icing.

Hailing from Scotland, cranachan is the undisputed King of Scottish desserts. Sweet raspberries, natural yoghurt, toasted Scottish oats and drizzles of honey. Swapping whipped cream for yoghurt turns the King of desserts into the King of breakfasts.

Not to be mistaken for the Scottish cheese biscuit, these favourites of ours from Stoke on Trent are like large oat crepes, filled with cheese, grilled, rolled up and served with tomato ketchup or brown sauce. Gluten-free oatcakes available. Add crispy bacon or fresh tomato for £1.50.

Fluffy buttermilk pancakes with either crispy bacon, butter and maple syrup, or fresh berries, Greek yoghurt and honey.

Pronounced “kai”, served with a dressed house salad and coleslaw. Our house special Tartiflette, with lardons, potato, pickles, caramelised onions and reblochon cheese, brings back memories of skiing trips in Morzine (far more eating and drinking than actual skiing). Or Hamilton’s Tomato Quie: fresh sautéed tomatoes, tarragon and sweet onion topped with mature cheddar and Greek yoghurt, a lunchtime favourite from summer holidays in Naples, Florida. We make them fresh and can remove the lardons or other ingredients to suit your taste.

A 500-year-old Scottish workers’ staple: a crisp hot-water pastry shell filled with minced lamb and spices. Three ways: The Fitba, with a cup of Bovril. The Posh, with beans and salad. The Glesga Oyster, in a large buttered roll.

A taste of South Africa, especially for our favourite little bokkies Benjamin & Landon. The Braaibroodjie (“barbecue bread”): cheese, onion, tomato & Mrs Ball’s Chutney, served with a spicy South African relish (Chakalaka).

Deep filled, thick slices of artisanal bread, oozing with melted cheese, served with a garnish of salad or crisps. Our secret three cheese mix with a sweet herby tomato dip, or brie, streaky bacon and cranberry relish.

Slowly roasted and served with a dressed salad garnish. Grated cheese (can be grilled on request), egg mayonnaise, tuna and sweetcorn mayonnaise, coronation chicken, Heinz baked beans or Krishna’s home-made chilli (VG). Add streaky bacon, cheese or coleslaw for £1.50.

Dressed house salad, topped with toasted seeds and seared sweetcorn, dressed with balsamic glaze. Add falafel & hummus, smoked salmon, or ham and boiled egg for £3.50.

Served with butter and seasonal chutney. Steph’s first taste of a cheese scone was at the Wedgwood visitor centre in Stoke on Trent, made by a lady called Betty, whose secret recipe was shared with Steph over 20 years ago. We can’t give you the recipe, but we can let you taste the result.
